Negative Scanning service.
110, 126, 127, 35mm and older Large Format negatives.
You will find that most people offering a similar service do not scan negatives bigger than 35mm.
Well I do!
Get those old negatives scanned and turned into digital Jpegs (I have done all my 70's pix)
Old photos can discolour with age. Scanning original negs will bring them back to new!
I can scan Black and White or colour.
The example photo on the listing is of my motorbike done from a little 110 negative from a picture I took in 1980.
I can email sample results from other negative sizes on request.
Please Note. This not a retouching service. The pictures returned will match the quality of the negative supplied.
Some negs may be blurred from the very beginning due to camera shake or a bad quality lense or even bad focusing by the original photographer. I may do a bit of colour restoration on some if I feel I can make an improvement. You will get the original scan as well as the retouched one. Be very careful handling your negatives - they will mark and scratch easily
The basic £2.99 price is for scanning one negative and the return postage of the original negative and the CD with the picture on.
I will also email each Jpeg to you as well as a hard copys on a CD
After the basic start price of £2.99 there will be a charge of 50p for each additional negative scanned.
Basically you are paying for time. Scanning each one can be a longish bum numbing process!
Sorting out the details on amounts to do can be sorted out between us after the initial purchase. I will do singles or whole collections or selected ones from strips of negs. Basically the more I do the cheaper it gets for you. (Above prices are just for doing a few)
In the first instance I could just scan a sample and then we can take it from there.
The aim is to keep this a personal service so I won't be taking on loads of customers. The listing is set to handle 5 customers. I will deal with all 5 before relisting. Please be a bit patient as I have to fit this in around daily life so I cannot promise next day service. Customers will be dealt with in order and the one before you might want loads done so a bit of patience may be required. I will always communicate progress. I will be as quick as I can though
Please ask any questions.
My History
I was a bit of a ameteur photographer back in the 70's with a Kodak Brownie 44A that used a 12 shot 127 film on a metal spool. The little Brownie was in my pocket and I took many biking photos from the 70's period and it produced excellent quality shots. The old photos all went in albums but a lot have discoloured over the years. Hence I bought a special scanner to especially to scan the large size negatives that 127 film is. Many of my old 127 photos have appeared in nostalgia stories in the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine.
My next camera was a little 110 jobby which used a little cartridge film. It was a definate step backwards as the negatives and photos were a bit grainy (see the sample picture on this listing). I must admit the scanner I am now using actually produces better photos from the 110 negatives than the prints that Truprint sent me back in the early 80's.
I then moved onto a 35mm Olympus OM10 - excellent camera - and I still have it stored away.
I now use digital camera's.
I have recently scanned a few very old odd size negatives for some work mates and they have been pleased with the results so I thought I would offer the service to a wider audience.. Being a bit of photo nut its been nice to bring old negatives back to life!
